Coping with Traumatic Bereavement: A Group for Survivors of Sudden Loss

Traumatic bereavement is a form of grief that occurs in response to a sudden, unexpected loss. This program can help participants learn coping skills to manage the challenges associated with traumatic bereavement through effective grief therapy techniques.

What to Expect:

Over the 12-week course, attendees will explore common reactions to traumatic loss and understand how trauma impacts mental and physical health. Our clinical therapist will provide compassion and guidance, utilizing approaches like DBT and EMDR, to help manage the effects of traumatic loss and empower survivors to re-engage in daily activities. This training will educate participants about the typical responses and symptoms of traumatic bereavement while teaching essential coping skills through trauma therapy.

Classes will be held at 3440 Hollywood Blvd, suite 415, Hollywood, FL 33021.

If you believe you have experienced traumatic bereavement, please reach out to us to see how our mental health counseling services can assist you. A screening call with our group facilitator is required to determine whether a group or individualized plan is the right fit.

Women's Trauma Group

Women's Trauma Group

A person is at risk of developing PTSD after exposure to a traumatic event. Some traumatic experiences that specifically put women at risk of developing PTSD include:

- Sexual assault

- Stalking

- Physical violence and intimate partner violence

- Military experience, including both combat and sexual assault

- Childhood abuse or neglect

- and more

We provide a 12-week psychoeducational process group that integrates DBT and EMDR techniques to help women stabilize after a trauma or ongoing, unmanaged symptoms. Women who have gone through a traumatic experience may become isolated and may experience feelings of anger, depression, or guilt. If the trauma involved injury, their physical health and finances may also be affected.

The Women's Trauma Groups offer a way to connect with others who face similar challenges, receive mental health counseling, and access resources for recovery, including grief therapy. This support can help reassure participants that the difficult process of healing is normal, which can ease emotional stress.

If you are a woman suffering from trauma, please reach out to us to see how we can help. A screening call with our group facilitator is required to determine if a group or individualized trauma therapy plan is the right fit.
